Happy Friday Courtesy of a Warm and Fuzzy Video

I saw this couple’s “cinema” wedding video on Style Me Pretty earlier this week, and I just had to share!  So many things I love about this video from the “first look” moment to the bride’s blue shoes to their visible love for one another.  Love!

Designer Spotlight: Pronovias

I’m been a big fan of Pronovias for a long-time.  With a combination of Spanish-flair and dramatic design, what’s not to love?!?  Pronovias bridal collections include flirty ruffles, accordion pleats,  tiered skirts, clouds of tulle, and beautiful, unique necklines.  In the past few collections, Pronovias has showcased crumb catcher necklines, daring one-shoulder numbers, modest boat necks, and an attention to details whether they be an origami fleurette or a tiny bow.   There’s really something for every unique bride! Check out some of my favorites below…

Happy One Year Anniversary to the Blog!

Wow.  I cannot believe I let my one-year blog anniversary come and go without an acknowledgment!   Well I can believe it… summer wedding planning is in high-gear right now, and things are busy!

It feels like I’ve been wedding planning since I was three.  I remember throwing elaborate weddings on the “lawn” of the Barbie dreamhouse.

Ken was there, and Barbie, and all the members of the Heart family (score for the people who get that reference!).   For those of you who are interested in more nostalgia, the Strong National Museum of Play has an entire wing devoted to dolls, including a great selection of members of the Heart Family.

My blog is the place I can share what I love with present and future clients and where I can embrace beautiful things, many of which are handcrafted by people whose creativity and talent make what I do that much easier.  Thanks for your readership!

For nostalgia’s sake, here is a sampling of some of my favorite posts from the past year:

Tutus: Tulle Done Right! One of my first posts.  Despite my love of the frothy little girl skirts, I’ve yet to convince a client to put a flowergirl in one, but just give me time!

Support Independent Artists: Poppytalk Handmade! My first discovery of this brilliant Etsy like marketplace of independent and eco-friendly artists.  What sets Poppytalk apart is the focus on the romantic, and the “LOVE * We’re so in it” card gets me everytime.

Friday Funnies: Courtesy of the Office I really enjoy the sporadic Friday Funday posts, and The Office spoof of the YouTube wedding video is sure to get you cracking and tearing up no matter what is going down.

Mad Men Inspired Wedding Gowns The post that greatly increased my non-family and friends readership – believe it or not for months “Mad Men Inspired Wedding Gowns” was one of the top search returns for my website – and my favorite of my vintage gowns postings.

Mr. Darcy Proposal Mug!

What’s a sure fire way to make sure your fiancee says “Yes”?  I’m not sure, but I know it can’t hurt to propose with this Mr. Darcy-inspired love mug.   Why didn’t I think of putting the best line of Pride and Prejudice on a mug?  So brilliant!

Unfortunately, they are sold out today after Etsy feautured them this morning, BUT I’m sure if you contact the seller, she can put you on a waiting list!

Preppy Little Dresses

Check out these cute little dresses from Ralph Lauren perfect for a seaside wedding.  I love the idea of steering away from the traditional white for flower-girls in favor of some bright colors with a little preppy inspiration.  Prices range from $50-$95.
