The Day in the Life of a Wedding Planner

Thanks to Jenn Ayres from Ayres Photography for sending me along this fabulous image from Mike and Ruth Ann’s wedding in April.

This was a down-time moment for me.  I had delivered the lunch food, arranged the flower drop-off, and provided one of the bridesmaids with some hair spray from the wedding planning emergency kit – all of which this photo captures.  Now, time for a breath and some checking-off in the notebook!  How I love checklists…

Friday Funnies: More Wedding Dance Amazingness

Ok, we’ve all seen the JK Wedding Dance and the fabulous Office Parody, but I dug up some equally impressive and entertaining wedding dances for your wedding amusement.  Happy Friday!

This first one just gets better and better with some incredible steps.  The couple leaves you wishing you had moves as good as them… or maybe that’s just me.

I love this couple, and it’s not just because ever since I saw Swing Kids as a kid, I wanted to learn swing dancing.  They exude happiness which makes their incredible moves that much more enjoyable.

These guys get points just for making the Robot look cool.  And the exuberant groomsman at the 2.43 mark is laugh-out-loud funny.

Ruth Ann & Mike

Mike and Ruth Ann were married on April 24 in Buffalo.  I assisted with month-of coordination and I have to say that Ruth Ann and Mike were fabulous pre-planners.  Their entire wedding day was filled with love and creative personal touches.  They also hired an amazing team of wedding professionals including Phenomenon Sound, Michael’s Florist, the Cheesecake Place, and the incredible Ayres Photography.  Thanks to Jenn and Ben Ayres for the use of the photos below.  They totally captured Ruth Ann and Mike and the great spirit of their day.  For more of their photos, check out their blog post on the wedding here.  Congratulations, Ruth Ann and Mike!  It was an honor to assist!

Ruth Ann’s gorgeous dress up against the city backdrop.

More lovely details.

Getting ready… There are many moments of the wedding day when I feel beyond privileged just to be present, and the getting ready period is one of those times.  The bride is surrounded by a tribe of phenomenal women who love and support her, and it’s just awesome to witness.  This photo definitely captures the fun and special feeling of that time of the day.

Beautiful bride.

Wedding party shots.

One of my many favorites.

I love this one.

The St. Louis Church in Buffalo where the ceremony took place.

The “we’re married” joy.

The reception was held at Asbury Hall, which has to be one of my favorite venues ever.  The team there is so on top of everything and really made my job easy.

Ruth Ann and Mike incorporated family wedding photos for guests to enjoy as they entered the reception, and I just love this detail.

The cake was a cheesecake and beyond delicious.  Ask my husband; I was still talking about this cake a week after the wedding.  It was that good.

Love the cake topper detail!

First dance.  And all those great chiavari chairs, which Ruth Ann and I share a mutual admiration for. :)

The dance floor was packed all night, and I love how you can just feel how much fun people had from this photo.

Dancing shoes.

Congrats again you two!
