There are so many beautiful shots from Gayle and Lee’s 8.9.10 wedding at the Glen Iris Inn, and I just can’t wait to blog about all the details.  But until then, here is a teaser shot taken by the super talented Mandy at Images Unveiled.  The setting could not have been more perfect!

Oh ‘Crew, You’ve Done It Again

Thank you J. Crew for continuing to design some amazingly chic and affordable bridal gowns.   Happy Fall indeed thanks to J. Crew’s Fall Wedding and Parties Look Book.

I adore this one… it combines so many of my dress loves: organza, lace, subtle polka dots, ruffles, buttons, and curls!  There is a lot happening, but it somehow works beautifully.

And this is the essence of romance with tulle and organza.

Who needs accessories with this striking neckline?

More polka-dots!

For a dress switcheroo perhaps?

Emily and Brendan

Emily and Brendan were married on July 17th, 2010 on a beautiful day in Cape Cod.  Yes, Better Together Events happily travels!   The wedding style was classic Cape Cod with a strong palette of navy, green, and whites.  Stripes were utilized wherever possible in the decor.

Their celebrations started early with a rehearsal lobster dinner on a cruise boat1

After the feast, the wedding party boarded a bus to the Welcome Party that was held at the Cape Cod Museum of Art.   Guests were treated to light fare, drinks, and the best cupcakes I’ve ever had courtesy of The Casual Gourmet.   What was really nice about this venue is that guests could mingle while taking in some of the amazing art the museum had to offer.

The next day, the bride and her ladies got ready at Wequasset Resort in Chatham.  Charlotte Phinney came to do hair and makeup styling.   Soon the bridal party arrived at Wychmere Harbor Club, and the bride was ready in a gorgeous knee-length Priscilla of Boston gown and veil.   The rest of the bridal party was decked out in J.Crew.  Bridesmaids shoes are Lands End, and the flower girl shoes are Baby Gap!  The brides heels are J.Crew and her red, party flats are Prada.

The wonderful Wendy from Wendy Cahill Photography documented the wedding day and provided all the beautiful images to follow.   Wendy actually took Emily’s photos growing up, and I think that personal connection brought that much more out of the photos.  They literally come to life!

Emily and Brendan decided to do a first look, which is always so sweet and seems to make the rest of the day so much more relaxing for the bride and groom!

Soon it was time for the ceremony to begin.  The Scorton Chamber Ensemble provided impeccable ceremony music.  Lilac’s Florals designed some truly incredible floral artistry that fit perfectly with the classic and clean wedding style.   All wedding stationary was done by Wedding Paper Divas.

What stood out to me about this wedding was all the LOVE present.  All the guests from different families and groups of friends truly got along, enjoyed each other, and came together in support of the bride and groom.  It was awesome!

One of my favorite reception ideas was the table numbers!  Each table represented a year in the life of the bride and groom with a photo of each of them from that age.  It was a lot of fun for guests to check out and was such a personal detail that just added to the warmth and love in the room.

I end with one of my favorites of the evening.   Congratulations Emily and Brendan!  It was a thrill to be a part of your incredible wedding weekend and to be a witness to the incredible love you share.

I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. ~ Roy Croft

Fun with Thank You Notes!

I LOVE stationary.  I just do.  And I love Thank You notes.  It’s a great way to let family and friends know how grateful and appreciative you are for their thoughtfulness and generosity.  With our upcoming new arrival, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to send thank you notes, and I tried to make them as personal as possible.

I went with the same color scheme as the baby’s nursery because a) they are my favorite colors and b) why not?  If you can, incorporate an appropriate stamp that goes with the overall vibe of the note.  The purple LOVE stamps were just perfect for this project.

DSC00676

I used a stamp that spoke to me at the craft store “love at first cuddle” and baby feet stickers to add some fun touches to the back of the envelopes.  Of course the stamps and stickers were in coordinating colors of purple and green.

I am seriously obsessed with this stamp.

For the card itself, I found personalized cards on storkie.com complete with the baby’s ultrasound picture in the mom’s stomach!  I also loved the headband detail!

The moral of the story?  It doesn’t break the budget or your free time to add a little more sass and pizazz to your thank you notes.  Have fun with them and make your friends and family feel as loved as you do!
