TGIF

Your love is better than ice cream

better than anything else that I’ve tried….

My husband always gets irritated with me when I point out things I wish we did for our wedding.  I’m pretty positive that if he saw this, it would solicit a big fat, “I wish we had that at our wedding.” <3

Gayle and Lee: 8.9.10

1 2

Gayle and Lee were married on a gorgeous day in the most beautiful of locations, at the Glen Iris Inn within the awe-inspiring Letchworth State Park.   Mandy at Images Unveiled was on hand to capture these equally magnificent photos.  Mandy’s talent plus the natural beauty of the setting and the love present all day long = some phenomenal photography.  Enjoy!

Gayle wore an amazing, lace, strapless Pronovias gown.   For those of you who follow my blog, you know that Better Together Events loves Pronovias!

GL003

Joan Lincoln arrived to do some flawless bridal makeup.  Gayle was a beyond STUNNING bride.

GL015

GL032So fierce.

GL055

Gayle and Lee chose to do a first look before their ceremony, and they got some fantastic documentation of the touching moment.  I felt honored to be able to take a peak through the windows!

GL116

This is one of my favorites below.  It was such a privilege getting to know Gayle and Lee and witnessing their love for one another.  They are such a great match!

GL119

Gayle and I share a love of a so many of the details incorporated into her big day.  In the picture above you can see two of those details: her stunning birdcage veil and the white parasol.  Gayle and Lee used a black and white color palette with tanzanite blue details, inspired by her fabulous engagement ring.   Both passionate about travel, they incorporated a travel theme with a vintage Parisian flair (one of their first trips together was to Paris.).  It was a thrill for me to help plan a wedding infused with so many personal details; it was an added benefit that I happen to just love all things vintage and Parisian!

GL148

Could the backdrop be more beautiful?

I love this shot in front of the Inn; I feel transported in time.  Gayle’s drinking their signature cocktail, “Passport to Bliss:” Hypnotiq, Orange Vodka, Lime Juice, and Soda Water.  Lee’s drinking one of the wines they personally selected for the reception.

GL194

Tossing bags filled with lavender buds and dried petals (from flowers given to Gayle from Lee since the first day they met) were presented to guests.

GL196

Guests were also given cold, personalized water bottles and fans (presented in a vintage suitcase) to stay cool.

GL198

The programs were printed on a vintage-style Parisian postcard.

GL199

Lee’s dad officiated the beautiful ceremony.  Jeff James played the couple’s favorite Beatles tunes throughout the ceremony.

GL340

The bridesmaids carried parasols in lieu of flowers.  The phenomenal Bouquets by Bonnie did the  flowers seen throughout.  Gayle and Lee were the only members of the bridal party to have a touch of blue in their flowers.

GL445

In one of my favorite details and something I took great care in setting up, guests were directed to their tables with luggage tag escort cards.  Each table was named after a city Gayle and Lee visited together.

GL334

GL450

Guests were encouraged to get comfortable and to put their dancing shoes on!

GL458

Table cards were framed pictures of Gayle and Lee at each city.  Love this detail!  It was also very fun and interactive for guests!

GL459

Customized menu cards were placed at each place setting.

GL464

The centerpiece was a single giant white gerber daisy placed in a wine bottle.  The bottles were saved by Gayle and Lee, and each one was a wine they enjoyed during their travels to each respective city.

GL707

At the gift table, guests were encouraged to leave a wish for Gayle and Lee.

GL461

The card box was another vintage suitcase!

GL463

Cheesy Eddie’s made the DELICIOUS cheesecakes for dessert.  A homemade blueberry sauce was available on the side.  I can still taste how fabulous this cheesecake was!

GL708

GL719

After dinner, everyone made their way into the tent.  Guests showered Gayle and Lee with the petals and lavender buds!

GL500

They danced their first dance as husband and wife under the beautiful tent.

GL724

Rather than signing a traditional guest book, guests were invited to take fun pictures at a photo station.

GL558

Everyone had tons of goodies to personalize their photo and their page in the guest book!

GL557

Infused water was available to guests throughout the evening – perfect on a summer night!

GL597

GL596

Gayle made a quick change into a gorgeous tanzanite blue gown, and Mandy got a picture of us together!

GL643

And they lived happily ever after…. Gayle and Lee, it was such an honor to be a part of your wedding planning from start to finish!  You both incorporated so many personal details that just filled the day with even more warmth and love.  I had a blast sharing the process with you – it culminated in a truly unforgettable wedding!

You left everyone present filled with the notion of “All you need is love…”

Dressing the Littlest Members of your Bridal Party: Janie and Jack to the Rescue

So I was at the mall last week when I ran across a Janie and Jack store relatively hidden amidst some of the Big Box stores.   I proceeded to spend a good 30 minutes in this relatively small store ogling over velour and velveteen Holiday dresses, plaid coats, sweater berets, rosette headbands, and teeny tiny crocheted shoes.  Let me tell you, it was not at all a safe place for me, but I somehow resisted the urge to do some serious damage on my Visa card.

After I got home, I remembered that a friend shared with me recently that this store has a Weddings and Celebration line.   Like its other items, the weddings line does not disappoint!  I was really happy to see that their line incorporates some color – an issue I have with J.Crew’s flower girl dresses as of late.

Cookie and Ice Cream Pops to Your Monday Rescue!

Thank goodness my husband has absolutely no interest in this blog because I cannot wait to surprise him with these cookie pops one of these days.  Summer may be over, but there’s always a good time to enjoy ice cream and cookies.   So festive, fun, and delicious for your next party.  For easy instructions on how to pull this off, visit Pen N’ Paper Flower’s blog here.
