Designer Spotlight: Pronovias

I’m been a big fan of Pronovias for a long-time.  With a combination of Spanish-flair and dramatic design, what’s not to love?!?  Pronovias bridal collections include flirty ruffles, accordion pleats,  tiered skirts, clouds of tulle, and beautiful, unique necklines.  In the past few collections, Pronovias has showcased crumb catcher necklines, daring one-shoulder numbers, modest boat necks, and an attention to details whether they be an origami fleurette or a tiny bow.   There’s really something for every unique bride! Check out some of my favorites below…

We’re Back!

Better Together Events is back from Ireland!  While I can’t exactly say I’m feeling refreshed after a whirlwind trip and driving miles and miles, it really was an unbelievable experience with beautiful sites!

As I prepare to face wedding season head on, I leave you with some take-your-breath away bridal gowns by Portland’s Elizabeth Dye.

Carol Hannah Bridal on Etsy!

I sort of woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.  Etsy to the rescue!  I stumbled across some incredibly romantic and feminine bridesmaids and bridal dresses.  I clicked on the dress details before I realized who the designer was… it was none other than Carol Hannah, who was robbed of the Project Runway crown last season!  Figures that I was already a huge fan of the designer!

Anyway, if you have a case of the Tuesday morning grumps, prepare to be cheered by fabulous frocks!

Designer Spotlight: Melissa Sweet

Happy Friday courtesy of some majorly sigh-worthy designer dresses!

Melissa Sweet started designing wedding gowns in 1996 and she instantly won raves for the balance and proportion of her gowns.  It wasn’t long until her flattering silhouettes and flawless construction led to her being scooped up by Priscilla of Boston, where her complete collections are sold and showcased.  Her designs really combine the classic bride exemplified by Priscilla’s with the whimsy and fun typically found in Melissa Sweet’s dresses.  She is definitely a favorite of mine!

To get your fashion heart aflutter and to enjoy Lady Gaga, check out this runway video from her 2010 Spring collection:

The feather headpieces are a fabulous touch.

New Crew for Under $900

I admit I’m a lace lover in bridal gowns, but if it’s not lace, let it by organza with asymmetrical details, which is why I love this dress.  And at $895, it won’t break the bank either.  Love!

The Office Wedding Fashions!

I just LOVE the fact that The Office styled Pam and Jim’s wedding fashions in light of their budget.  It would have been so easy to put Pam in Vera Wang, but instead they used David’s Bridal, making the wedding both totally accessible to today’s bride and completely consistent with Pam and Jim.  Yet another reason to love the show!

Looking for Pam’s look? Check out Style T9552 for $399.

And the bridesmaids wore Style F12732 for $145.

Bridal Designer Spotlight: Mikaella

An offshoot of the stylish Paloma Blanca line of bridal gowns, Mikaella first entered the bridal stage in 2004.  I just love the Mikaella way, a classic style with a modern touch. Combine this with prices starting at $1,000, what’s not to love?
