Dressing the Littlest Members of your Bridal Party: Janie and Jack to the Rescue

So I was at the mall last week when I ran across a Janie and Jack store relatively hidden amidst some of the Big Box stores.   I proceeded to spend a good 30 minutes in this relatively small store ogling over velour and velveteen Holiday dresses, plaid coats, sweater berets, rosette headbands, and teeny tiny crocheted shoes.  Let me tell you, it was not at all a safe place for me, but I somehow resisted the urge to do some serious damage on my Visa card.

After I got home, I remembered that a friend shared with me recently that this store has a Weddings and Celebration line.   Like its other items, the weddings line does not disappoint!  I was really happy to see that their line incorporates some color – an issue I have with J.Crew’s flower girl dresses as of late.

Preppy Little Dresses

Check out these cute little dresses from Ralph Lauren perfect for a seaside wedding.  I love the idea of steering away from the traditional white for flower-girls in favor of some bright colors with a little preppy inspiration.  Prices range from $50-$95.

Thank Heaven For Little Girls!

While it’s no secret on this blog, that I am a huge fan of US Angels for flower girl dresses, they tend to be on the pricier end, so check out these precious alternatives for under $100. Alfred Angelo (Style 6143 ), $100:

How adorable are the buttons down the back?

Prints are big for weddings right now.  Check out this sassy printed flower girl dress ($99, David’s Bridal).

I love the vintagey feel of this faded pink dress with the playful ruffled neckline.  And at $79, it’s a steal (David’s Bridal).

For a bit more (but less than $150), check out the amazing new styles by Priscilla of Boston and Melissa Sweet.  I love their use of cotton tricotine… a very practical and comfortable fabric for the littlest members of your bridal party!  So stinkin’ cute I can’t get over it!

Flowergirl Dress Pick: Us Angels

Us Angels has made a name for itself by producing affordable, high-quality dresses for children ranging in size from infants to toddlers to sizes 4-16. All dresses are made with super high-quality fabric: silk shantung and alencon lace like the yellow dress below

to silk taffeta like the fuchsia dress pictured here:

They recently started a new “Blush” collection that features dresses with a “youthful simplicity” and “classic styling and unique details” (from the website). The Renaissance dress (below) is an example from this collection.

I just love the girly silhouette paired with the beaded detail. Perfect for your favorite little loved one!

Tutus: Tulle Done Right!

Ahhh… tutus. What woman young at heart isn’t taken back to ballet class at the site of these sweet cupcaked skirts? (Photos courtesy of Layla Grace).

I must say I love the flowergirl tutu trend. It is a great way to let the youngsters in your bridal party be kids and enjoy the day in style, fun, and comfort.

And, call me crazy, but a tiny floral wand might even work wonders in the design of certain weddings!
