Chris and Amanda: August 20, 2011

Amanda and Chris were married on a gorgeous summer day at Heron Hill Winery on Keuka Lake.  Thank you so much to Brandon Vick Photography for sharing all these beautiful images.

Chris and Amanda’s wedding style was eclectic, fun, whimsical, and vintage so they incorporated bright shades of purple, mango, and watermelon into their wedding design.   One of my favorite details was the bridesmaids’ attire: they all wore graduated shades of the three colors; it really allowed all of the ladies’ personalities to shine through while still looking unified.

Can’t wait to spotlight these Badgley Mischka shoes on Shoesday!  Here’s a sneak peak:

Showcasing her gorgeous gown hanging on the hangers we love so much at Better Together…

Amanda was truly a radiant and beautiful bride.  Thank you so much for choosing me to coordinate your most special of days!

In Bloom created all the vibrant floral design.

Many, many thanks to the venue coordinator at Heron Hill, Kara Smith.

The always great, Nik Lite Band, kept the guests dancing all night long.

Premier Pastry made and designed the impeccable and delicious cake.

I’ll leave you with some of mt favorite shots from the day.  Thanks again, Brandon!

Ryan and Kyla: June 25, 2011

Oh, Kyla and Ryan, where do I even begin?

tomas_flint_wedding-4

These two wonderful people came into my life in January 2010.  I still remember answering the phone and finding Kyla on the other end.  I knew instantaneously that we were meant to go on the wedding planning adventure together and be life-long friends.  Kyla had a clear wedding vision: clean, elegant, and romantic!  Her and Ryan just resonate joy and love, and this much was apparent in all the details that painted the day.

Kyla loved planning her wedding and was a champion decision maker, which made the planning effortless.  The wedding ceremony was held at the spectacular Chapel Hill downtown; dinner and dancing followed at Oak Hill Country Club.  This wedding brought together the best of the best in the Rochester wedding industry including (in random order!):

Tomas Flint Weddings – Photographer

Pastor Jack Porcello – Officiant

Marini Strings – Ceremony Music

Nik Lite Band and Jazznik – Entertainment

Premier Pastry – Cake

Arena’s Florist – Floral Design

Paper Moon Productions – Videographer

Bella Carta Studio – Stationary Elements

Balloon Effects International – Lighting Design

S&S Limousine – Transportation

Del Monte – Sunday Brunch, Guest Accommodations

Next Door Bar and Grill – Rehearsal Dinner

Table Toppers – Linens and Chair Rentals

Encore Signature Events – Photobooth

Joan Lincoln – Makeup

Maria at Ultra Image – Hair

Better Together Events – Wedding Design and Coordination :)

As you can see below, Kyla’s wedding look was out of this world.  Her dress was Vera Wang at her best and most romantic : a soft and clean bodice with tiered layers of romantic organza.  For more on her Louboutins/pieces of art on her feet, click here!  Bridesmaids wore lovely, Priscilla of Boston, crinkle chiffon, short, one-shouldered dresses in pewter.  Nude heels completed their gorgeous look.  Ryan was in a classic, custom Hugo Boss tuxedo and his groomsmen wore Calvin Klein.

The color palette was Pewter, Steely Lavender/Lilac, and White with hints of green.  All of the details from the floral design to the paper products to the cake and beyond were designed and implemented with these hues in mind as well as Kyla’s overarching vision of romance and elegance.  I think everyone knocked it out of the park if I don’t say so myself!

Kyla's bouquet was made up entirely of peonies and wrapped with the fabric of her mother's veil. Charles Arena is a genius!

I’ve mentioned some of my favorite personal moments on this blog before: the moment before the bride goes down the aisle – the anticipation, the excitement, the nerves, the weight of the moment-, the privilege of witnessing the bride get ready with her loves ones.. Professionally, it’s always so fulfilling to see all the details come together in one perfect evening.  I can’t thank Tomas Flint and his talented team enough for documenting Kyla and Ryan’s wedding on the “macro” level (see below)…

But, of course, at the end of the day, it’s all about the love, which these two have in abundance!

I simply had the best time working on this wedding and getting to know Kyla and Ryan both as the fantastic individuals they are and as a couple.  To say thank you for the honor to be a part of this adventure and to share in your joy could never be enough to express my gratitude.   Cheers to your wonderful marriage and to many coffees and conversations to come!

Elyse and Chris: June 18, 2011

Elyse and Chris were married on June 18th, 2011 on a beautiful summer day in Buffalo, NY.  Elyse was a joy to work with from start to finish, a truly wonderful person inside and out.  We actually didn’t meet until a few weeks before the big day, but we both felt as if we’d known each other for years!  It was an absolute pleasure and honor to take part in their special day, and it was unbelievably fun coordinating all the details.

The day started out with a mid-afternoon ceremony at Elyse’s hometown church, St. Mark’s in Buffalo.

Then it was onto the reception at the 20th Century Club, one of the most elegant, breathtaking, spectacular venues  I have ever seen.

The cocktail hour took place in the outdoor garden, which was so romantic, so cool; it was right out of a Louis Armstrong song.

The 20th Century Club is known for their delicious, homemade with fresh ingredients, superb food, and they did not disappoint.  I couldn’t stop talking about this soup…

Topping off this romantic and elegant look, the floral designer, Maureen’s, created the most perfect little bunches of white and blush garden flowers – hydranges, roses, peonies.  They all popped so beautifully against the bridesmaids’ navy gowns.

The finishing touch to the ballroom were the chiavari chairs – these chairs were made for a room like this.  Elyse and I had more than a few emails back and forth chatting about our shared love of chiavaris…  The damask table cloths and candelabras provided by Hank Parkers/All Seasons pulled the romantic/elegant look together.

Favors representing Chris and Elyse’s home base, Michigan, and the photos of their parents and grandparents on their wedding days added even more personal detail to such a sweet day.

Guests danced the night away to Atlas Band.  They just completely knocked my socks off and their rendition of “Everything” put Michael Buble to shame!

Many thanks to Dylan and his assistant Joel from Onion Studio Photography for his amazing work and all of these spectacular images.

Thanks to Buffalo Strings for their beautiful ceremony music, Carriage Trade Pastries for their delicious cake, and Aces Limousine.

Most of all, thank you to Elyse and Chris for being so wonderful.  I had so many moments throughout the day where I though to myself, “How lucky am I?” that you chose me as your planner!  Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful story and future with me.  So much love to you both!

Perfectly Styled Wedding Shoot

I love this wedding shoot featured on Style Me Pretty a few weeks back.

The designers put the bride in these fabulous turquoise shoes from Hey Lady that I featured on the blog back in September. And how fab are the teal chiavari chairs?  Love.
